First Version

This is the first draft of our video. There are still a few things we need to work on, but for our first try it is pretty good!

GROUP BLOG POST #3 DUE

For our second day, since we were completely done filming our shots, we edited the film and put it together into a story. We used iMovie, which was a program that was easy to use and helped us add in fun features such as music, text, and even a voice over.

For the most part, our shots did not need much editing. There was one shot on the green roof that was too windy and you could not hear what Josh was saying. This is the shot that we added the voice over so that you could hear what was meant to be said.

Putting the shots together was not difficult because we filmed them in the order that we wanted so all we had to do was add them together. We decided to add the music and the titles between shots so that they would flow better. Overall, this seemed to be visually and aesthetically appealing.

GROUP BLOG POST #2 DUE

On our first day of shooting, we found certain things to be more difficult than others. We were using a regular (picture) camera rather than a video camera, so we were not sure how all the clips would fit together in the end. We knew we would be taking shots from different locations, and the lighting and sound were different in each shot. Since we wanted the clips to flow seamlessly, we tried to find areas that would be similar.

Other than that, we did not have very many problems. We were able to follow our creative direction in showing the "Green Giant" going through the process of a typical sustainable day at Champlain College. We created an introduction so that the audience will know what the point of the video is and who the character is. This seemed to be easier to understand rather that just throwing the audience right into the story.

The original concept was to be more of a story than information, however, we felt it was important to explain what each of the green solutions was. This way, if there were to be someone who is not from Champlain watching our video they would not be confused.

Overall, our first day of shooting was a GREAT success!
